Washington Dc ALUMNI EVENT april 2023
The Board of the Alumni of the University of Otago in America (AUOA) hosted an Alumni Event which included welcoming the Otago University Law School Team representing New Zealand at the Philip C Jessup International Moot Court Competition, the oldest and most prestigious international student moot competition in the world.
The event took place on Thursday April 13th 2023 at the NZ Embassy in Washington DC (with grateful thanks to the generosity of the NZ Ambassador, His Excellency Mr Bede Corry and the team at the NZ Embassy)
boston ALUMNI EVENT march 2023
AUOA was delighted to host a gathering of alumni and friends at Boston’s WorkBar on March 29, 2023. Hosted by Board directors Phil Graham and Jacinta Calverley, the function targeted medical and health sciences, life sciences, and scientific research alumni in the greater Boston area, and was AUOA’s first local ‘in-person’ event for a number of years.
A highlight of the evening was a livestream video conference with Dean of the Dunedin Medical School, Professor Joanne Baxter who shared the story of her journey to her current role, and discussed some exciting research and developments being led by the Otago University Medical School.

150th celebration - NZ Embassy in Washington DC
The Board of the Alumni of the University of Otago in America (AUOA), Chancellor, Dr Royden Somerville QC, and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Harlene Hayne, hosted Otago alumni friends and colleagues from across the decades to help celebrate the University of Otago's 150th Anniversary. The event took place at the NZ Embassy in Washington DC on Saturday November 2nd, 2019.
